A luxury badge or black exterior should not be treated as proof of Uber Black eligibility. Ask for confirmation for the specific vehicle, not simply a model name.
Confirm the rental arrangement before the vehicle
Uber’s rental-car guidance states that rental vehicles must come through an approved partnership. That guidance does not establish that any particular DDE rental is approved.
Ask DDE how the proposed rental is set up for your intended platform, then verify acceptance with the platform before committing. For Lyft, request confirmation directly rather than assuming Uber acceptance carries over.

Do not confuse the daily luxury fleet with rideshare inventory

Likewise, DDE’s chauffeur service is for customers booking a vehicle with a professional driver. That is different from renting a vehicle so you can drive passengers yourself.

Compare the full cost of a working week
Ask for an itemized quote for your intended rental period. A headline weekly rate alone is not enough to judge whether the rental fits your driving schedule.
Rental terms to review
Upfront payment: rental charges, taxes, fees and any deposit.
Mileage: included miles, excess-mile charges and treatment of personal use.
Insurance: coverage while offline, waiting for requests, collecting passengers and carrying them; deductibles and exclusions.
Commitment: minimum term, renewal process and early-return conditions.

Your own budget
Use this calculation with conservative earnings assumptions:
Earnings after platform deductions − rental charges − fuel or charging − other driving expenses = amount remaining before taxes.
Include cleaning, parking, unreimbursed tolls and any mileage charges. Keep any refundable deposit separate from running costs, but include it in the cash you need upfront.
For a black car option, compare the additional quoted costs against the work you are eligible to accept. Do not build your budget around guaranteed bookings or earnings.
